1987 – 1988
In 1987, Mexico signed its participation in GATT (General Agreement of Tariffs and Trade), currently known as WTO World Trade Organization. As a result, taxes and economical barriers were eliminated, giving Mexico an opportunity to participate in a world trade experience.
In 1988 F.X. Morales was founded to serve and satisfy the food industry with ingredients for success. The company’s corporate offices are in Monterrey, N.L. and we operate in the entire country and on a world wide level.
In the beginning F.X. Morales & Asociados started with Kraft Food Ingredients with an exclusive representation, offering cheeses and vegetable shortenings. Some other principals FXM represented at that time were Church & Dwight with sodium bicarbonate and Ballas Egg products.
1990
In 1990, we started to represent De Zaan Inc. the largest producer of cocoa powder, also with the brand Ambrosia Chocolate, with chocolate products; both currently belong to ADM Cocoa.
1994
In 1994 Mexico experienced one of its most critical economical crises, causing the devaluation of our currency, many bankruptcies and debt. This brought about a reduction in importations, reducing our sales. However we were able to convert a “crisis into an opportunity”, through key strategies in a win-win relationship with our customers and our suppliers.
2000
During this year the business’s strategy was renewed; handling not just the brokerage, but also the distribution of products from our principals. We were able to consolidate competitive volumes for our customers, and at the same time we opened warehouses in Mexico City and Monterrey.
2004
We formally established the applications laboratory for the Research and Development area, offering a global service to our customers, with ideas applied in prototypes and support to their lab and industrial trials.
2009
With the aim of bringing better products to our customers, FXM International LLC was created in 2009 as a subsidiary of FX Morales & Asociados. By means of this subsidiary, our company is able to respond to the ever-growing needs of our customers in Mexico as well as provide a better platform to cover the needs of our clients in other global markets.
2010
We formally establish our Culinary Center, where new ideas are developed for our customers and is also where our tasting, innovation presentations and sensory evaluations are performed.
In this same year, our Pilot Plant is inaugurated, which was designed to evaluate products on a larger scale.
Present
We focus our efforts on offering an outstanding service, in sales, technical support and logistics. Covering the entire country, with a sales force strategically located to serve the food market. We are continually looking ahead and exploring ingredients that can fulfill the trends that are coming in the industry, to allow our customers to develop innovative and successful products.
